A collaboration of four people: Art and Gus Anderson, along with the support of their wives, Elaine and Phyllis. Their friendship dates over 50 years.
Valhalla Vineyard was planted over 20 years ago with a grand cru burgundy clone brought to the United States in the early part of the 20th Century.
With over 35 years of winemaking experience, first as a home winemaker and later after studying grape growing and winemaking at the University of California at Davis,
Gus Anderson maintains a high passion for hands-on winemaking seldom seen in the industry.
Showing a ruby-purple color, the 2009 is a full-bodied wine with a sensational texture. It has light to medium floral tannins with a hint of black pepper and spice. The fruit is vibrant in flavor, interwoven with forest-floor earthiness and raspberries.
Before release, our Pinot Noir gets extended barrel aging and bottle aging. It is ready to enjoy now and will continue to improve in the bottle for years to come, making it a perfect cellar selection.
