The name Merlot conjures up many images of wine.
However, when you think of the finest quality, the wines of Bordeaux, specifically those from the right bank of the Dordogne River in the Village or Pomerol come to mind. Here one finds the wines of the likes of Chateau Petrus, L’Evangile and Le Pin. Much like those vineyards, our estate wines produce Merlot with opulence, finesse and rich ripe fruit.
The Merlot follows the footprint of Bordeaux, specifically the area along the right bank of the Dordogne River in the area of Pomerol, where one finds the wines of such Chateaux as Petrus and Le Pin. Much like those vineyards, our Estate Vineyards produce Merlot with opulence, finesse, and rich ripe fruit.
This vintage displays a dark ruby color and a nose that jumps from the glass. It is filled with the aromas of black currants, dark chocolate, and blackberries. In the mouth, the flavors of black cherries, minerals, and spice abound. The tannins are well integrated and soft.
You can expect this delicious wine to continue developing for the next 5 years or more and live for 15 or more years beyond that.
