EAGLES TRACE ESTATE GROWN CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY
Vineyard
In the heart of the Napa Valley, just three miles east of St. Helena, Conn Creek flows out of Howell Mountain through Conn Valley.
All of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for Eagles Trace are grown in estate vineyards located in this region. The lush fruit from our grapes gives
Eagles Trace wines great richness of flavor and sense of place.
Winemaking
Winemaker Gus Anderson has been making fine wine for more than 35 years.

2005 ESTATE GROWN CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY
This wine, a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc, displays the color
of dark rubies and has the aromas of crème de cassis, cedar,
blackberries, and smoke.
In the mouth, the taste is that of a powerful full-bodied wine with sweet ripe tannins, blackberries, black
cherries, fine herbs, and a touch of charcoal and earth.
The finish is very long and lingers on the palate -
reminiscent of a great Pauillac.
This wine will continue to improve for 10 years or more and will live for 20 plus years.

2004 ESTATE GROWN CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY
Our 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon has a composition similar to the great wines of the St-Julien and Pauillac:
75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc.
It is an elegant, full-bodied wine, showing an opaque
plum-purple color, a perfumed nose of flowers, cassis and blackberries and fills the mouth with black currants and a hint of licorice. The tannins are sweet, ripe and well integrated.
This wine will benefit with cellaring for 1 to 7 years and continue to live for 20 or more years.

2003 ESTATE GROWN CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY
The 2003 vintage began with an unpredictable growing season. A series of heat spikes in March lead into the wettest April on record. The summer was cool allowing for flavors to evolve beautifully ahead of sugar development. A heat spike in September allowed what was going to be a late harvest to develop normally giving very rich flavors to the grapes.
Winemaker's Notes
The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon displays a classic dark ruby color with a bouquet of cream de cassis, leather, all spice, cigar box, and black peppercorns. The taste is plum, cherry, blackberry, and cassis with fine ripe tannins. Given an hour of aeration the wine fairly explodes with flavor. It will easily live for 20 years.
